Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to participate in arts, educational, recreational, and volunteer activities onsite and in the community. Position is 37.5 hour/week.
Qualifications:
Education:
• High School or GED
Experience:
• Experience with IDD community; working with special populations in arts, education and/or recreation settings.
Other:
• Must be able to work in a team setting, have good driving record and current proof of vehicle insurance.
• Helpful to have CPR, first aid, various safety skills and/or defensive driving.
• Must be able to pass physical/agility test in order to lift up to 40 lbs. in order to assist clients when necessary, carry supplies and equipment, move light equipment, etc.
• Must pass background and MVR checks.
• Must be vaccinated with the COVID-19 Vaccine.
Responsibilities:
• Provide group and individual support, supervision and transportation to individuals in the program.
• Manage a caseload of participants. As an interdisciplinary team member, assess the needs and desires of the individuals, attend meetings, advocate and assist in developing service and support plans to ensure person-centered outcomes.
• Monitor success of outcomes attained and document progress.
• Assist with activities and facilitate small group recreation, cultural, art, and educational outings.
• Assist with organization of office and activity space during and after activities.
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living.
