Groundskeeper II - On Call (Parker, Colorado)

Douglas County School District is actively seeking a Groundskeeper II - On Call.

Responsible for various grounds maintenance and repair functions relating to landscaping, operation of equipment and installation and the repair and replacement of equipment at various District sites. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.

Essential Physical Requirements:
• Constant lifting ten (10) to twenty (20) pounds
• Frequent lifting over fifty (50) pounds
• Constant bending, standing, extensive walking, reaching, kneeling, stooping, climbing
• Occasional sitting, crawling

Responsibilities:
Perform general grounds cleanup, including picking up and removing trash and debris from grounds areas, parking lots, playgrounds, athletic fields and other assigned areas; clear storm drains as needed.

Operate tractors and attachments, dump truck, bobcat. Operate hedgers, power clippers, large mowers, sprayers, trucks, chain saws, trimmers and other Grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools. Assist Equipment Operators. Operate and maintain a variety of power driven equipment.

Install landscapes in accordance with plans and instructions.

Plant, cultivate, spray, fertilize, water, mow and trim lawns, prune shrubs, hedges, trees and flowers. Fill, level, roll, smooth and prepare ground for planting.

Service and make minor repairs to playground equipment.

Maintains grounds areas and playgrounds in a clean, orderly and safe condition; identify, repair and report safety issues and hazards to appropriate personnel; resolve safety issues in a proper and timely manner; respond to emergency grounds maintenance needs as requested.

Maintain the District athletic fields including striping, seeding, aerating and fertilizing all grass areas.

Assist in various maintenance of District irrigation systems.

Provide snow removal on call with varying work shifts on short notice, including nights and weekends or before/after regularly scheduled shift. Operation and maintenance of plow equipment, sanders and District vehicles on District property.

Complete daily work orders as assigned and post hours, work performed and costs in the District work order system to assist with accurate reporting of maintenance costs.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Certifications:
Class B CDL - Air Endorsement - Colorado Department of Transportation

Education:
High School or Equivalent

Minimum Hire Rate:
(Based off a full-time FTE; if applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated)
$15.50 USD Hourly


Maximum Hire Rate:
(Based off a full-time FTE; if applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated)
$19.56 USD Hourly
