Douglas County School District is actively seeking a Groundskeeper - Irrigation Technician.

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of irrigation systems. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school stakeholders.

Essential Physical Requirements:
• Constant lifting ten (10) to twenty (20) pounds
• Frequent lifting over fifty (50) pounds
• Constant bending, standing, extensive walking, reaching, kneeling, stooping, climbing
• Occasional sitting, crawling

Assist in determining water schedules; check lawns, trees and shrubs to assure proper health and water distribution, turn water systems on and off as appropriate; set and adjust controllers and time clocks according to seasons, soil and lawn conditions, water distribution rates and established watering schedules.

Monitor and make adjustments to "Maxicom" central control system and manual controllers based on weather and evaporation rages.

Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair new and existing irrigation systems including mainlines, valves, sprinklers, back flow devices, controllers, pumps, laterals and related components and equipment; replace system parts and equipment as needed.

Provide snow removal on call with varying work shifts on short notice, including nights and weekends or before/after regularly scheduled shift. Operation and maintenance of plow equipment, sanders and District vehicles on District property.

Complete daily work orders as assigned and post hours, work performed and costs in the District work order system.

At any point within the year, irrigation technicians can and will be asked to perform work similar to, or equal to Groundskeeper II Maintenance Technician. At no point are irrigation technicians exempt from work not classified with irrigation

Employment is contingent upon employee obtaining CDL Class B with air brake endorsement within 90 days of hire - Colorado Department of Transportation, Maxicom I, II, III Certification - Rain Bird

High School or Equivalent

Minimum Hire Rate:
(Based off a full-time FTE; if applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated)
$16.55 USD Hourly

Maximum Hire Rate:
(Based off a full-time FTE; if applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated)
$21.37 USD Hourly
