SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITY:

The Project Architect is responsible for establishing a creative direction for all projects of an architectural nature. They are responsible for understanding all applicable building codes, regulations, and rules for all projects; for managing and navigating the permit process on all projects; coordination with all outside consultants and professionals related to the Design Process. The Senior Project Architect is responsible for Quality Assurance on all projects by specifying all architectural materials. They are responsible for architectural details for all projects. They are also responsible for helping to sculpt and direct the design culture and environment.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITY:

 Establish creative direction on all architectural projects
 Assume a leadership role on projects and guide clients through the Schematic Design process
 Create presentation materials for all Schematic Design presentations
 Maintain Core Value Culture in the Design Team
 Conduct Code Studies and publish a Code Study Report to the Design Team on all architectural projects
 Manage and specify all energy code compliance strategies
 Manage and navigate all permitting processes with the jurisdictions of our work areas
 Manage the cover sheet of all architectural projects
 Develop all architectural details for projects
 Specify all architectural materials for projects
 Specify all window and doors for projects
 Research and implement the usage of new materials and methods
 Maintain and enhance the architectural materials catalog and samples library
 Negotiate with and hire all outside consultant participation in the Design Process
 Manage all outside consultants to the milestones and deadlines of the Design Schedule
 Provide modeling & drafting support as needed
 Provide guidance and training to less experienced design staff

BACKGROUND REQUIRED:

 Advanced Knowledge of Construction Methods & Materials
 Advanced Knowledge of Architectural Drafting Principles and Processes
 Advanced Understanding of the phases of Architectural Design
 Advanced Knowledge of 2012- 2018 International Residential Codes
 Working Knowledge of 2012- 2018 Universal Building Codes
 Advanced Knowledge of 2012- 2015 International Energy Conservation
Codes
 Advanced knowledge of City of Boulder Zoning and Building Permitting
Codes and amendments
 Advanced Knowledge of Boulder County Land Use and Building Permitting
Codes and amendments
 Advanced knowledge of City of Denver Zoning and Building Permitting Codes
and amendments
 10 years minimum experience in Residential Architectural Design
 7 years minimum experience in Revit Modeling & Drafting
 Ability to commit to aggressive deadlines
 Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
 Strong general computer skills
 Must be able to pass a background check

EDUCATION:

 Bachelor's Degree in Business or a similar field is required (MBA is preferred)

COMPENSATION:

An attractive compensation arrangement will be offered which includes a base salary and bonus opportunity.
