A Career Specialist provides assessment and case management to participants enrolled in the Colorado Works Employment and Self-Sufficiency Programs.
Primary focus of a Career Specialist is providing coaching and case management services to Colorado Works eligible families of Jefferson County in order to achieve self-sufficiency. Work involves completing initial and ongoing assessments of participant's strengths, barriers, family functioning and employment capabilities. Further responsibilities include facilitation in the development of the participant's individual plans and goals. Additional duties may consist of: crisis management, vocational counseling, job development, employment and volunteer site visits, group facilitation, coordinating services with and referring to outside agencies and other internal departments, monitoring progress, processing payment and data entry into the state database Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS).
Bachelor's degree in the Human Behavioral Science fields; or any equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
At least one year of related work experience is preferred.
Offer of employment contingent on criminal history, MVR check and education verification.
Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must have a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date, and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years.
