JOB: SUMMARY: The Director of A&D must have strong organizational skills to work in an unstructured and independent environment with minimal direct supervision. Both verbal and written communication skills are very important, as this individual's work product will be responsible for ensuring that the final development encompasses the company's cornerstones. Creating an efficient design in conjunction with project management that also allows the building to operate successfully, from a site plan, floor layout, and systems point of view. The Senior Director of A&D will be responsible coordination of the preliminary stages of design with Concord's partners, owners, operations, business development, facilities, and project management teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with partner architect and design firms to determine potential site and floor plan layouts, building elevations, and renderings based on internal feedback regarding the potential use of the site. Information will include type of hotel brand, parking goals, building heights, and other required information.

Ensure that the conceptual plans will meet local jurisdiction, brand and internal Company requirements.

Make well organized conceptual plan presentations internally, to brand leaders, and at required jurisdictional meetings in order to gain approvals to move projects to the next stages.

Upon approval of conceptual design manage the process of sending out an RFP for design services, in conjunction with project management to qualified firms for selection of the design team.

Help continue to evolve Concord's standard agreement for architecture services and work with the selected designers to have a contract negotiated and executed in a timely fashion.

Work with project management and contracted design team to generate a project schedule for the development.

Work with contracted architects to ensure design meets company/brand requirements and standards. Create a schematic design presentation to ownership in order to gain final approvals on floor layouts, site plans, elevation views, interior design direction and renderings.

Monitor and direct activities of the architect, engineers, consultants and vendors in order to push the design schedule and provide all designers the information they require to stay on the design schedule.

Prepare project work products that clearly and accurately reflect project status; Manage and coordinate local government approvals, zoning and community aspects to support the initial design process.

Work with the project team in determining feasibility, concept options and justifications for proceeding with a given project request.

Review, critique and adjust periodic reports with project management in order to assure accurate project budgets and schedules are being communicated.

Prepare periodic progress reports for partners and Senior Executives.

Review construction documents for adherence to required company and brand standards.

Responsible for proper filing and naming of all electronic files on Concord's Box e-document management system.

Help administer and maintain Concord's internal design standards.

Adheres to corporate policies and procedures.

Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.

Handle all other duties as assigned.

Some travel will be required.
