Events Lead

MarketSource is currently searching for an Events Lead to work with the world leader in internet-related services and products including online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, software, and broadband

services.  As an Events Lead, you will lead the creation and activation of community events that will allow the field sales team to drive user acquisitions by engaging directly with consumers, community advocates, business, and educational and community organizations.  You will also work cross-functionally with other departments to help bring the brand vision to life across all customer touchpoints.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee field and community event strategy and execution
  • Manage reports, event metrics, local events budget, collateral and giveaways
  • Develop, build, and manage relationships with local organizations and community event sponsors
  • Work closely with Field Team managers and other staff on field and company events
  • Coordinate strategy and locations for activation of mobile units and pop-up retail
  • Ensure that the highest level of guest service is provided using our client’s go to market criteria
  • Ensure that our associates represent MarketSource and our client with the highest integrity and ethical standards
  • Lead the creation and activation of community events that will allow the field sales team to drive user acquisitions by engaging directly with consumers
  • Execute at both field and client events ; event setup/teardown, metrics reporting, asset management and maintenance (this role could include some driving of personal vehicles)
  • Evangelize our client’s products and be able to speak about product features/packages
  • Oversee field events to ensure quality control during live activations
  • Support field sales leadership team on overall strategy and approach to local events execution
  • Help manage event team to direct incoming requests from outside groups for hosting at event spaces
  • Manage CMS on back­end of company website and frequently update live, online calendar
  • Frequently update live, online calendar

Core Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Must be eighteen years or older
  • 2+ years of sales and customer service experience
  • Proactive “get it done” attitude
  • Strong understanding of industry trends & directions
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to multitask and move from task to task
  • Critical thinker with excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work nonstandard work hours as needed
  • Proven record as a leader and manager
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking in front of small to medium audiences
  • Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays in order to meet the needs of the business

  • 1+ years of local market experience preferred
  • Proven self-starter
  • Ability to drive sales reps to perform and deliver client expectations
  • BA/BS degree in marketing, business, communications, other related field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of related work experience (e.g. events, venue management, marketing, sponsorship or promotions)
  • Experience in people management
  • Knowledge of and experience using company products
  • Strong connection to local culture, geography, community leaders and partnership opportunities.

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items
  • Walking and standing for long periods of time
  • Requires moving around the store to assist customers
