Under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager, the Food and Beverage Assistant acts in a leading position over the front of the house staff at the golf course restaurant.


Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To ensure that guests are promptly seated and served and that all food and service standards are met
  • Create all weekly schedules for servers, bartenders, cart personnel and banquet staff
  • During busy times, assist the front of the house staff
  • Must be highly motivated and take direction well
  • Provide a leadership role for bartenders, servers and cart personnel
  • Conduct weekly Safety Training
  • Update the POS system with all menu changes and specials
  • Assist in menu development and revisions
  • Interact with the customers encouraging feedback
  • Assist in booking parties and events
  • Coordinate reservation book with Outlook Calendars
  • Post weekly conference room schedules
  • Facilitate all training for the bartenders, servers and cart personnel
  • Responsible for liquor ordering, inventory and cost control
  • In the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager, to act in his/her place
  • Daily coordination with the Golf Operations Staff
  • Ensure compliance with local and state regulations regarding food and alcohol service
  • Must comply with City and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Provide suggestions for menu and beverage upgrades and changes
  • Review all processes and procedures and make suggestions for improvement
  • Assist and provide leadership with food and beverage service related to private parties, banquets, and golf tournaments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have previous bartending and food service experience

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

  • Office equipment : Calculator, Telephone, Copier, Scanner, Fax
  • Computer equipment : Cash Register, credit card terminal, Personal computer knowledge and skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software
  • Other equipment : Point of Sale system
  • Language skills: Ability to speak to people to convey or exchange information; record and deliver information in a teaching or instructional setting, ability to speak above noise with voice control and confidence; ability to read and prepare written documents with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech
  • Mathematical skills : Must be able to complete basic math functions (+,-,*, /) with accuracy; minimal tolerance for error is allowed when handling cash and credit transactions
  • Reasoning ability : Ability to make appropriate decisions in a variety of restaurant related situations where only limited standardization exists; interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form
  • Physical activities : Majority of shift is spent standing and/or walking
  • Lifting : Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Vision and hearing : Must have minimal levels of eye/hand coordination, ability to coordinate hands and eyes in using various types of equipment
  • Exposure to environmental conditions : Usual restaurant environment; some exposure to heat and cold, noise
