There are 2 different roles for the HPL Technician. The HPL Blanking Technician works in a pair to handle the first part of the table top building process. Youwill be working with wood surfaces and run them through a machine that applies glue, laminate and backer onto wood core boards.
The HPL Edging Technician puts edging around tabletops using various tools and techniques. You will lift the table top up to the machine and run it through the correct banding machine to apply to correct finish. This role doesn't require you to work in pairs but still requires you to have good communication.
Both positions may require them to lift in excess of 50 pounds to load and turn the table tops on the press. You will be on their feet for up to 11 hours per shift. You will use measuring tools such as a tape measure to verify quality of production.
This is a large production area and they are adding on. It gets very hot in the summer. Flexibility is very important in this role. Dress code is casual, shorts are fine. Steel toes, safety glasses and hearing protection are required. 1st shift is 6am - 2pm, 2nd shift is 2pm - 10pm(Edging) OR 1pm -9pm(*Blanking). They are in the process of converting their 2nd shift to be a 10 hour shift which would be 1-11 or 2-midnight. This is a very fast paced work environment, very well laid out and bright. Teamwork and safety is very important here.

There is a shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift. You will receive a 30 day review and a 90 day review.
