This position is responsible for maintaining food quality while promoting consistency and excellence by using the established recipes and procedures. The Chef works with the Management Team to help create a safe and sanitary work environment while continuing to build sales and profitability. Back of House Management is expected to be present in the kitchen during busy times.


RESPONSIBILTIES
Oversee food orders and stocking levels, including all kitchen materials. Be the leader in the back of the house, rallying your team during heavy shifts and resolving conflicts. Ensure the kitchen is kept clean both at the end of the night and during shifts. Ensure company standards are upheld
Conducts daily line checks. Ensures that clear feedback is provided to the entire kitchen team, including staff and management. Ensure a safe kitchen space and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues. Evaluates the quality, care and morale of the staff and strives to improve these areas through solid communication, care with schedule-writing, and most of all leadership.

Conducts bi-weekly food safety and sanitation and facility reviews personally to improve restaurant standards of kitchen team and to correct deficiencies on a timely basis. (Mock Health Inspection). Responsible for ongoing training and professional development of staff members
Ensures that the staff avoid cross contamination, improper food handling and/or storage practices, etc., through proper training and supervision Evaluates the quality, care and morale of the staff and strives to improve these areas through solid communication. Staffing/Scheduling
Manage and maintain correct staffing levels. Hiring of Back of House employees including line cooks, prep cooks, porters and dishwashers. Make the schedule for the Am and Pm shifts. Control labor and eliminate overtime.
