Job Title: Laser Setup /Operator -- Weekend Shift

Primary Objective of Position:
Under limited supervision, sets up and runs the laser.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Setup for prototype as well as

production runs on the laser.
2. Work with the programmer to optimize existing programs for maximum efficiency.
3. Work with the programmer to achieve the best possible setup.
4. Measure parts coming off the machine using appropriate measurement equipment.
5. Run parts in an efficient manner.
6. Maintain workmanship standards.
7. Maintain machine.
8. Cleanup and maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications:
Must be able to read and understand mechanical/manufacturing drawings. Good mechanical aptitude. Good oral communication skills a must. Must have own tools. Must be able to measure parts using different kinds of measuring equipment, for example calipers, micrometers, tape measure, protractor, etc.

Experience:
5 years minimum experience working with lasers.

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 4-5 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Excellent communication skills required both written and verbal. Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and staff.

Mathematical Skills: Excellent Mathematics. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Technical Skills: Must be able to create documents, spreadsheets, and strong knowledge of specific programs. Ability understand complex instructions, how schematics work and make sure items are designed and built correctly.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent service orientation and excellent communication and service skills a must.

Seeing -- Must be able to see well enough to read reports and use a computer.
Hearing -- Must be able to hear well enough to communicate on the phone and in person.
Standing/Walking/Mobility -- Must be able to stand to operate office machinery.
Sit -- Regularly required to sit.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling -- Must be able to stoop and kneel for short periods of time.
Lifting -- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling -- Must be able to write, type, and use the phone system.

Environmental Conditions
The noise level in the work environment ranges from loud to quiet.
Work environment is indoors.

Pay Scale:
Contingent on experience.

Weekend Shift: 5:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday - Sunday
