Paralegal  - Compliance Specialist
Location: Bloomfield, CT
Duration: March-June, 2016
 This role is responsible for supporting and representing compliance related impacts and changes related to the benefit summary tools, processes, and

documents. It includes collaborating with project leads and matrix partners on project related impacts, ongoing maintenance, providing test support, and user community education.
Attend regular project meetings to represent and coordinate compliance impacts and requirements, includes providing technical advice on language and regulatory issues. Support the translation and documentation of complex rules into requirements that the user community will understand. Support compliance driven projects and initiatives impacting Company benefit summary tools and processes, includes working with various business partners to ensure full project scope is delivered within the targeted release time-frame.
Collaborate with Summary of Benefits and Coverage SBC SMEs to ensure compliance impacts are aligned with regulatory needs. Partner with team members and Compliance partners to provide test support on changes related to Enterprise projects. Ongoing collaboration with Compliance partners to ensure benefit summary tools, documents, and processes remain compliant with state and federal legislative and regulatory rules and changes. Support user presentations and training by compiling necessary information and creating materials. Apply product availability rule updates, to tools used by Sales and Underwriting, gathered by actively participating in work sessions to collect necessary changes. Support Service request development and user story creation for compliance items. Provide SME support for user tickets, meeting takeaways, and inquiries as needed. Identify and analyze compliance related errors to determine root cause and determine appropriate course of action to mitigate future errors. Effectively collaborate with different user community groups Sales, Underwriting, and Service Operations and internal matrix partners and leaders from various departments in the organization i.e. Product, Compliance, and Information Technology IT .
Skills: Strong preference for health insurance carrier product knowledge/experience. Working experience with compliance rules and regulations. Strong systems skills Microsoft applications, i.e. Excel . Strong communication and problem solving skills including the ability to transpose, document, and participate in resolving business process related challenges . Working knowledge of  Sales and Service Operations tools a plus, such as Salesforce. Exposure to the Agile SLDC methodology a plus.
Education:  college degree preferred. Will consider candidate with appropriate compliance background. Typically has three to five years of compliance/regulatory experience or other relevant work experience.
