The Retail Management Training Program (RMTP) prepares candidates for transition into branch management at People’s United Bank. It provides the opportunity for management candidates to develop a professional command of retail financial services, including products, markets, technologies, competitors, and customers as well as a grasp of the management and leadership skills necessary to effectively function as a branch manager.

During the 4-6 month program, candidates will rotate through various phases, based on previous experience. Sponsors are assigned to candidates to assist and guide them throughout the program. Each phase, at different branch locations, offers a blend of classroom training, group discussions and on-the job training as the trainees learn the skills and competencies necessary to function effectively in each branch position--CSA. FSA, LCSA, CSM and FSM.

On-the-job coaches are assigned to work with candidates during each phase of on-the-job training. Upon completion of each phase, the on-the-job coach will complete an evaluation of the candidate’s performance.

In order to complete the program, the trainee will need to successfully pass their state life insurance license. Upon successful completion of the program, the trainee will be assigned to an in-store branch (Stop & Shop Branch) as a CSM or FSM, based on business need, and begin the Series 6/63 program.

We are looking for candidates who are flexible and can work in the Danbury, Brookfiield, New Milford and New Fairfield areas.

A satisfactory criminal background check, a credit report, and a review of information from the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLSR).regarding any administrative, civil, or criminal findings by any government agency may be required by federal law for this position (Regulation Z, 12 CFR Part 1026).
