Position Title: Customer Service/ Sales Floor Team Member

Must be 16+ years old

General Description/Primary Purpose

To operate cash registers in a store, process Guest payments, answer incoming calls, bag Guest goods, and multi-task as
required.

Description of duties and Tasks Essential job functions
 Guest Service: All Team Members will be familiar and practice STAR when
interacting with our Guests. Smile -- Provide a friendly interaction with our Guests; Talk --
Engage our Guests by asking them "What you can help them find", Approach -- Approach and
engage all Guests by Greeting and Assisting them and address their needs, be Rapid -- Provide a
quick response to address their needs.
 Address all questions and inquiries by Guests professionally and rapidly.
 Seek out assistance from subject matter experts when unable to answer the Guests questions
 Utilizes company selling approaches to create an enriched Guest experience. Acts quickly to
address Guest concerns and provide resolution.
 Assist in maintaining a well stocked and neat store appearance.
 Assist when needed to replenish items that are identified as not being on the selling floor.
 Understand and process multichannel functions (GFS, GFS ASP, SOS, Layaway and ISPU).
 Ability to sell and drive for results.
 Understand basic merchandising protection standards, PORT, key item facing, SFIS.
 May be asked to work in multiple departments to help Guests and the store team to achieve
daily results.
 Be familiar with all services offered by "R"Us brands and drive for results when selling these
products (e.g. R Rewards, Square Trade Warranties, R US Credit Cards, etc.)

Additional Team member Job Functions:

1. Guest service. Smile and engage every Guest. Address all questions and inquiries by Guests. If
asked a question that they cannot answer, will locate the appropriate subject expert to further
help the Guest. Obtain Guest's phone number upon check-out (explaining Guest delight survey,
if necessary). Ask Guest about shopping experience and suggest add-ons (e.g., batteries).
Interacts with Guests of all ages.

2. Operates cash register and verifies purchase price. Identify and locate UPC codes on items,
correctly scan codes, and obtain assistance for price checks when a price code is not readable or
is missing.

3. Packages Guest goods. Packages a Guest's goods unassisted and place goods in the Guest's
shopping cart.

4. Processes Guest payments. Accurately process all forms of Guest payments accepted by the
store, including cash, store credit, checks and credit cards. Payment processing duties include
counting cash and making change, use of electronic credit card receipts, verification of Guest
identification for checks, communication with Guests to obtain identifying information (such as
driver's licenses), recording of Guest information on checks, and communication with store
manager for authorization on checks over $100.

5. Retention and execution of tasks. Able to learn to perform all essential job functions at an
acceptable level with minimal supervision within 3 weeks.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Ability to read price tag information, ability to read English language sufficient to read Guest
checks, Guest identification and similar written materials.

2. Basic English language writing skills for completion of payment processing, Guest checks and
void paperwork on void transactions.

3. Basic mathematical skills, including addition and subtraction, necessary to verify cash register
functions and make change.

Position Title: STOCKING CREW
Must be 18+

General Description / Primary Purpose
Stock merchandise in a store, unload trucks, merchandise resets and do related work as required. Typical shift is early mornings.

Description of Duties and Tasks Essential Job Functions

1. Guest service. Smile and engage every Guest. Address all questions and inquiries by guests. If
asked a question that you cannot answer, locate the appropriate subject expert to further help
the guest.

2. Fill merchandise. Replenish a shelf, bin or pegged area with stock and transporting merchandise
by hand/pulling. This also includes picking up loose pieces of merchandise from the floor.

3. Rework merchandise. Re-merchandise any selling space, to regroup items, or to make space for
new merchandise.

4. Reading and setting an aisle layout. To read both written and numerical verbiage, comprehend
spatial relationships, and have the ability to set merchandise according to the layout.

5. Remove cardboard. Take empty cases from the sales floor to the baling machine.

6. Box cutter usage. Safe operation of a blade-type instrument designed for opening cased
merchandise, as well as returning the blade to its non-operational position when not in use.

7. Re-shop merchandise. Returning merchandise to its proper location on the sales floor as
designated by aisle layouts. This requires knowledge of sales floor locations and proper
merchandising techniques, and can be accomplished either by hand or pushing a sales cart.

8. Apply shelf labels. Manually placing shelf labels on lip below merchandise or on scanner peg
hooks.

9. Work overstocks/perimeter. Moving merchandise to and from the perimeter and gondola
overstock areas and requires climbing a ladder up to 12 feet.

10. Load/unload truck. The physical removal of goods from a truck and putting empty pallets,
security cages, and transfers back on the truck. Requires the use of various material-handling
equipment.

11. Merchandise search. Physical search for merchandise either cased in storeroom or on perimeter
or gondola overstocks.

12. Loss prevention. Observe people who attempt to steal merchandise, supplies and/or money from the company. Upon observation follow Store Operating Procedure guidelines and then notify
management.

13. Retention and execution of tasks. Able to learn and perform all essential job functions at an
acceptable level with minimal supervision within 3 weeks.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Reading merchandise and cartons labels, signage, training materials and other related
paperwork. Basic writing skills for completion of various merchandise oriented paperwork.

2. Basic mathematical skills, including addition and subtraction necessary to stock or repack
merchandise.
