One person was taken to a hospital after a two-alarm fire erupted Wednesday morning at a Thornton apartment building.

Sabrina Iacovetta, a spokeswoman for the city's fire department, said

the blaze at 9650 Huron St. was extinguished about 8:30 a.m.

Iacovetta said she didn't have further information on the person injured in the blaze, including if they were a resident or firefighter.

North Metro Fire Rescue and Federal Heights Fire Department also responded to the blaze.

Residents of the building have been taken to North Huron Christian Church.

"We don't know the cause as of yet," she said.
