MONTROSE - The death of a toddler who died after being brought unresponsive to a hospital has been ruled a homicide.
On the early afternoon of Feb. 12, Tobi J. Doyle, a 2-year-old girl, was brought to the Montrose Memorial Hospital ER by the Montrose Fire Protection District in an unresponsive state.
The girl was resuscitated and transferred by air to the Children's Hospital in Aurora where she died in the early hours of Feb. 13.
The Adams County Coroner's Office transferred the death investigation to the Montrose County Coroner's Office of Medical Investigation.
An autopsy was performed and the cause of death was multiple cranial cerebral injuries due to blunt force impacts from non-accidental trauma. Her death was ruled a homicide.
The Montrose County Office of Medical Investigation and the Montrose Police Department are investigating.
